Wypipo, Cops Aren’t Customer Service

So Empire’s latest star, Jussie Smollett has been making headlines ever since he reported a hate crime a few weeks ago. At first, of course, I believed him. After all, we live in America. Shit like that happens almost every day, especially nowadays since hate crime in America are reaching all-time highs.

Unfortunately, it turns out Jussie dumb ass might’ve orchestrated the entire attack. He was arrested early Thursday morning and it’s currently facing a felony charge for filing a false police report. He still maintains he’s innocents but it’s not looking too good for his dumb ass.

Now let me be clear, I’m glad cops conducted an investigation (which rarely happens when hate crimes are actually committed) and seems as if the truth is starting to come to light.

Now that’s out the way let’s talk about white privilege for a hot minute. I saw this meme on FB this morning (see below) and it low-key fucked me up.

Lately, wypipo calling the cops on black for no apparent reason outside of racial discrimination has become a fucking epidemic. I mean, I’ll just list a few of them below in case you’ve been living underneath a rock these past few years.

I mean I could literally post hundreds of these stories about wypipo calling the cops on black people like it’s some type of customer service hotline.

Even though it’s just a FB meme, the statement itself is valid AF. The fact that a lot of wypipo’s first reaction when placed in a situation they’re not racially comfortable in is to call the cops is one thing. Especially after we, as a nation, have seen countless video evidence of how damaging the police state is to black and brown bodies. That in itself is a piece for a later day, but for now, let’s just focus on the act of calling the cops in the first place.

According to FindLaw.com, If you file a police report that turns out to be inaccurate or even completely false, it doesn’t necessarily mean a crime has been committed. A person’s memory may be unreliable, or they may have relied on false information when filing the report. But the bottom line is that the individual must have known the report was false when filing it in order to be charged with a crime.

That last piece gives folks a little wiggle room, but it’s how that wiggle room is applied which concerns me most. Which actually brings us to white privilege. We’ll ignore the obvious case of privilege in these situations -White folks don’t have to worry about people calling the cops on them for no “apparent” reason, but us black and brown folks do- Instead, let’s focus on how the law is used against one group of people while another group of people seem to get a free pass.

Let’s just look at the similarities between Jussie and these “terrified” white women.

• Both parties called the police to report a wrongdoing
• The alleged “wrongdoing” was racially motivated
• Both parties “wrongdoing” was complete bull shit and didn’t resort in any arrest of the person(s) accused of said wrongdoing

Yes, an argument can be made that calling the police isn’t technically filing a police report, but I find that to be bull shit.

1. All those phone calls are stored in the police stations database
2. Those same calls can serve as evidence if a wrongdoing was actually committed.

These similarities would indicate that these MFS should receive some sort of similar punishments, but we all know that’s bull shit. Of course, each situation is unique and everything isn’t quite the same, but come on bruh. At the end of the day, these wypipo know they’re in the wrong when they call the cops and file their “complaints.” They’re not looking for cops to come uphold the law, they’re looking for the cops to uphold white supremacy. We need to address this epidemic of wypipo filing false complaints with the same energy cops & the media are giving Jussie’s dumb ass.
