Since February is around the corner I thought it would be a good time to remind everyone that America will never teach us the truth about our history.

Period…

Next month we’re going to be drowned with information and propaganda that America, and the rest of the West, consider to be “Black History.”

This “history” will start with the Transatlantic Slave Trade, and quickly make its way through the Black experience here in America. Handpicking the “heroes” they deem as the acceptable Black folks we should celebrate and teach a whitewashed version of their bravery and activism to our children.

I’m not saying we shouldn’t teach/learn this history, and I’m damn sure not saying that our history of bondage in the West shouldn’t be taught. In fact, I think it’s extremely important for all of us to learn what was done to our ancestors. Not only that, but we should also learn/teach who were the ones responsible for our past and current oppression.

After all, we can never know where we’re going if we have no idea where we’ve been.

However, we must be conscious of the fact that what’s being feed to us, disguised as “Black History,” is only half the story… A story that’s been manufactured to maintain what many Black Scholars call the “inferiority complex.”

True Black History

Our history is the oldest history of any peoples on the face of this planet. Period. True Black History doesn’t start when White people gained global power by profiting off of black bodies. Yet, instead, it actually begins thousands and thousands of years ago in the heart of the motherland that was once called Alkebulan (Alkebu-lan meaning, “mother of mankind”).

Kemetic History of Afrika; the definition of Alkebulan is as follows: “The ancient name of Africa was Alkebulan. Alkebu-lan “mother of mankind” or “Garden of Eden.” Alkebulan is the oldest and the only word of indigenous origin.

Next month I’ll be dropping a number of pieces about Black History that is normally never discussed as Black History. The goal of this is a simple one… To reclaim our righteous history and rebrand what “Black History” really is. Only then can we truly enlighten ourselves and free our minds from the shackles this society places on them.
